Healthy yet tasty, that's the food we prefer these days. It is a good change, to see that people are becoming more and more health-conscious and there is a positive change in food habits. A salad, which was frowned upon earlier mostly by youngsters, is being lapped up with zest. To cater to these healthy food cravings Fabindia started its flagship restaurant Fabcafe in Banjara Hills. A first in Hyderabad, the restaurant has a calming environment, which makes your dining experience more relishing.
Fabcafe focuses on bringing a nutritious menu highlighting India's diverse cuisine with a wide array of dishes representing various parts of the country. A café that features modern regional Indian cooking and a completely new salad menu that is light, flavourful and inspired by Indian street food and tons of Vegan options too.
Guests can commence their meal with healthy breakfast options such as Polenta Upma (vegan classic upma with a gluten-free twist served with signature sambar and tomato nariyal chutney); Berry Smoothie Bowl (healthy smoothie bowl with strawberry, raspberries, blueberries and vanilla topped with muesli and fresh fruit).
The Café offers food that is made without dairy, wheat and sugar. The place also has many tasty varieties for vegans.
The menu has breakfast delights, salads, appetizers, main course, desserts, beverages, smoothies, shakes and not to forget the special kids' menu as well.
Starting with smoothies, the berry blast in the menu is a must-try. With the blend of mixed berries and a sweet touch of almond milk, this gives the rich flavour of berries to your taste buds. Coming to the salads, the café has a wide variety which will satiate your craving for healthy greens. The coriander pesto grilled chicken with mixed green is a combination of lettuce leaf and grilled chicken mixed with yoghurt dressing.
The salad section has options that use the freshest ingredients and are perfect for a healthy meal. Diners can opt for Shakarkandi Tarabooj Salad (roasted seasoned sweet potato, watermelon, mixed greens, roasted pumpkin seeds, with a zesty citrus dressing) this salad will have you remembering all the times you had on a summer evening; Chicken Tikka Salad(mix greens, capsicum, pickled onion served with cashew mint dressing on a bed of mixed greens).
The veg-momo's filled with spinach is served with chilli chutney and a garlic dip, as usually, is best when eaten hot. The momos are made with jackfruit flour is a healthy option to choose.
The main course has an exotic range of options to choose roti to make with walnut and potato flour is a must-try dish with Chicken Tikka Makhani curry which is made with desi tomatoes and white butter.
The curry also tastes good with red rice which becomes a heavy meal. The brown rice chicken biryani is a must-try dish, this dish is not only healthy but also tasty. With the combination of mixed spices, chicken, brown rice garnished with light brown caramelized onion this could be the best dish in the main course menu.
The kids' menu is the colourful one in the café. Pasta with cheese is light yet a taste option for the kids who crave for pasta.
Since no meal is complete without dessert, diners can indulge in offerings such as Caramelised Banana Cake (grain-free cake from banana flour; ripe bananas topped with caramelised bananas); Mango Cashew Tart (vegan cheesecake with raw mango).
