Your Vedic birth chart is a unique karmic map that shares the wisdom of life- past, present and future, some astrologers' say.
But, as they claim, does it hold the key to understanding our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual body level? Another question is does it also share secrets of our intimate and transformation process.
Jyotish is the Vedic science of astrology. No doubt.
But, how does one read it? All those boxes and numbers or planets and their positions given in those charts?
Take note of the first house in the chart. This is also where the rising sign is located. The small number in the first house indicates the rising sign. Now how do you know the Zodiac sign and its number?
It is like this: Aries is number 1. Taurus is 2. Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces..in the ascending numbers. All 12 in place?
Now count counter-clockwise around the chart, locating the first through the 12th houses. Sun and Moon must be in some houses. OK? SU is the abbreviation used for Sun. The Sanskrit abbreviation is SY for Surya.
MO is the abbreviation for the Moon. The Sanskrit abbreviation is CH for Chandra.
Now let us look out and Sun and Moon signs. We have already identified their Houses. So, what is the number of each of these Houses and what sign do they indicate? Again got it? That is your Sun sign and Moon sign.
Now let's move over to identifying the nine planets.
You can use these common abbreviations used by those who prepare these charts:
AS = ascendent, your 1st house. MO = Moon. SU = Sun. SA = Saturn. ME = Mercury. MA = Mars. VE = Venus. JP = Jupiter. Ra = Rahu. Ke = Ketu.
Now that you know your Houses, Sun and Moon signs and their positions and also the positions of all of those nine planets, let us also know what signs are those of the nine planets. To know this, just identify where are the sitting in the charts.
Interpretation comes next. And let us not do it here at this stage, because it needs a Cover 2.
long long practice and the silence of meditation and contemplation on the science involving it.
But be happy, in the first place, that you are able to know the planetary positions. That itself is a great accomplishment. Is not it? Does it lessen the mystery a bit?
Here we are giving the charts of some important personalities and also try to make some sense of it.
