Naresh Vijayakrishna felicitated by Goa Governor for 55 years in cinema
Veteran Telugu Actor NavarasarayaDr. Naresh Vijayakrishna was felicited by Goa Governor H.E. Sri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju at Raj Bhavan, Goa for his remarkable 55 years in cinema. The honour came on the occasion of Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday.
Dr. Naresh Vijayakrishna was welcomed by members of the Telugu community in Goa before visiting Lok Bhavan, where he toured the centuries old property, and interacting with the Governor. Dr. Naresh spoke about his sprawling filmography as well as his numerous social and diplomatic assignments. He is currently an ambassador of the National Academy of Security & Defence Planning, a wing of the UNIGO and also the Honorary Colonel, Indian Command.
Dr. Naresh had made his debut as a child artist in PandantiKapuram in 1972 and was a lead actor in NaluguStambhalata in 1982 which turned out to be a super hit. Later he made an indelible mark with SrivaarikiPremalekha, Police Bharya, ChitramBhalareVichitram, Jamba LakidiPamba and several more.
Apart from films he has been active in public life and contributed to various social causes including rejuvenating water bodies in Rayalaseema and preservation of its age old arts and crafts.
His second innings in films began in the 2000s and has seen him take on a host of roles – as the hero and also in character roles. His association with contemporary filmmakers and younger audiences has enabled him to stay in relevance as he delves deeper into newer avenues of film making.
As he steps into his 55th golden year in Telugu cinema Dr. Naresh Vijayakrishna continues to experiment with multiple roles and projects and add yet another milestone to his illustrious career.
