Seasoned director Boyapati Sreenu has reportedly pocketed Rs 4 crore for filming political ads for Telugu Desam Party to boost its chances in upcoming Assembly and Parliament elections in Andhra Pradesh.
"Boyapati Sreenu would have pocketed more than Rs 4 crore since usually he demands more than Rs 11 crore per film," says an industry source. The director of 'Simha' and 'Sarrainodu' is known for his powerful punch-lines and heroism-driven movies. "He is a star director and has used some cinematic dialogues to boost some schemes to give an edge to TDP in the elections, " the source adds. Earlier, the director filmed a documentary with AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu during Godavari pushkaralu few years ago. "Naidu likes Boyapati's hard-hitting style of filmmaking and relies on him a lot and gives him almost a free hand," the source points out.
On the work front, the action filmmaker will soon begin shooting with seasoned star Balakrishna and the budget of the film is pegged around Rs 75 crore. "It is true that it would be shot with a massive budget, but the figures are yet to be fixed. Atlhough, the combination of Balakrishna and Boyapati will create ripples in the trade and among Nandamuri fans." the source concludes.
