‘Anakapalli’ team celebrates response, calls for more theatres
The team of ‘Anakapalli’ held a Thank You Meet on Tuesday to thank the people for their overwhelming response to the rustic drama after its first-day theatrical release on October two. The film’s makers and cast expressed their gratitude to the audience for their support while calling for exhibitors to give more screens to the movie.
Actor-producer-director Thrinadha Rao Nakkina said that film is pulling crowds despite the competition after the opening weekend as many shows were houseful. He appreciated the artists for their work and requested the audiences and media to support the film. Producer Kandregula Naidu said that the rustic drama was released in approximately 200 theatres and that they had worked hard to bring it to the people’s screens. He further said that they were disappointed that despite the film’s positive response, the exhibitors had not given enough screens and requested the distributors to release the film in more screens. Lagadapati Sridhar, whose son Vikram Sahidev stars as the lead hero, said that he believed the movie will become a Dasara Dhamaka. He said that the audience’s support could help smaller films succeed.
Vikram Sahidev thanked the audience, critics, and the general public for their support, while praising Indraja, Sandhya Vasishta, Tarak Ponnappa, and composer Davzand for their work on the film. Actress Indraja said that it was disappointing that a well-received film had not been able to get sufficient theatres, adding that the audiences ultimately judge the film based on its contents.
