Jaggesh completes 40 years of film journey
Actor Jaggesh, popularly known as Navarasa Nayaka of Sandalwood, is celebrating 40 years of film journey on Tuesday.
Bengaluru: Actor Jaggesh, popularly known as Navarasa Nayaka of Sandalwood, is celebrating 40 years of film journey on Tuesday. The actor started his film career with a small role in Ibbani Karagithu, starring Anant Nag and Lakshmi and ended up being a successful Sandalwood actor. The super energetic actor is presently relishing the success of his recently released Premier Padmini and Kalidasa Kannada Meshtru.
Jaggesh struggled in supporting roles, both as comedian and villain, for more than 10 years before making it big as a lead actor. His first film as hero was Tharle Nan Maga released in 1992, which also marked super star Upendra's directorial debut. The film was a hit with masses and led to Jaggesh to change his position in the industry as a lead actor.
In his career spanning 40 years, Jaggesh has acted in nearly 150 films. His notable films include Tharle Nan Maga, Bhanda Nanna Ganda, Mata, Eddelu Manjunatha and Neer Dose have gained positive response from the critics. Jaggesh has also tried his hand at directions with "Guru" and "Melkote Manja", which were released in 2012 and 2017 respectively. Taking to social media on Tuesday, Jaggesh posted a collage pictures of himself with other actors of the Kannada film industry and thanked them for their support to him to complete 40 years in the industry.
