In the age of coronavirus when uncertainty looms large over opening up of theatres, most filmmakers have realised that OTT is the way to go. In fact several directors are opting for digital release for their movies to ensure they get back at least what they have invested.
But more often than not, they manage to make some profits too as it happened with Suriya's 2D Entertainment produced Ponmagal Vanthal starring Jyotika. In fact critics felt that the movie may not have fared so well at the box office. However, the ROI from its digital release exceeded expectations and producers are laughing all the way to the bank.
Now, realising the fact that OTT could be a possible medium to reach out to larger audiences, more filmmakers are willing to experiment with this platform. The latest to jump into the digital bandwagon is none other than Kollywood director-Cinematographer PC Sreeram. He is all set to collaborate with Gautham Vasudev Menon for a web series. And guess who's commissioned the project? Amazon Prime Video.
PC Sreeram himself shared this news with fans on his social media handle. "My next project after the lock down is over will be with Gautham Menon for a web series. It's for Amazon . Waiting to start work after a long gap due to this corona.
Hope the world will be a better place for all of us," posted the Kollywood lensman.
The filmmaker is currently busy with Rang De which features Keerthy Suresh and Nithiin in lead roles. The movie is a rom-com by Venky Atluri. The movie production which was halted midway due to virus fears will start rolling in August.
Sometime back, PC Sreeram had also shared news about him joining hands with Bollywood director R Balki.
