If one were to name some of the biggest Kannada movies lined up for production, KGF 2 and Rajaveera Madakari Nayaka come to mind. While KGF starring is directed by Prashant Neel and has raised expectations of the audience because of the stupendous success of the first part, Rajaveera Madakari Nayaka featuring Darshan Thoogudeepa is directed by SV Rajendra Singh Babu whose notable films include Muthina Haara, Bandhana and Antha among others. well known producer Rockline Venkatesh is bankrolling this movie based on the historical figures in Karnataka. A few portions of the film have been shot already and the shooting had to be cancelled following the corona lockdown.
Now, even though the government has given a go ahead to moviemakers and TV serial makers to resume production, strict guidelines and SOPs have been issued because of which shooting a movie of this scale may be a huge challenge.
The basic rule that all filmmakers have to comply with is to operate with minimum crew members and also should involve less travel.
However, for a movie like Rajaveera Madakari Nayaka, one can well imagine how many members are required.
So in the interest of the health of its crew members, the makers of Darshan's Raja Veera Madakari Nayaka have decided not to resume shooting for now but wait for situation to get back to normalcy.
It may be recalled that in a recent interview, Darshan had said that unless theatres open up there was no point in making new movies.
Darshan will be next seen in Tharun Sudhir's Roberrt which is expected to have a theatrical release after theatres are thrown open to public.
