Actor Tiger Shroff, who is gearing up for the release of his next film titled ‘Student of The Year 2’, has said that he has brought in his own individuality to play his character in his upcoming romantic-action drama film.
Actor Tiger Shroff, who is gearing up for the release of his next film titled 'Student of The Year 2', has said that he has brought in his own individuality to play his character in his upcoming romantic-action drama film.
Tiger Shroff was interacting with the media at the trailer launch of 'Student of The Year 2' along with his producer Karan Johar, director Punit Malhotra and co-actors Tara Sutaria, Ananya Panday on Friday in Mumbai.
'Student of The Year' which released in 2012 featured Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra in lead roles. It was big box-office success. When asked Tiger whether there is pressure on team of 'Student of The Year 2' to achieve more success than its earlier franchise, he said, "I don't want to compare this film with the earlier franchise. I think we have made a different film altogether and there will be definitely flavours of 'Student of The Year' in this film but to add to that, I have done my best to bring in what people know me for."
Tiger Shroff plays character of Rohan who is student in the film. Tiger said he brought in his own individuality to play his character in the film, he said, "I have sort of got in little Tigerism into my character. I am very thankful to Punit (Malhtora) who gave me a lot of scope to express myself in that manner. If you see the trailer of this film, you will realise that, the sports we have are very different. We are introducing Kabbadi for the very first time on celluloid and Bollywood, so I think that's a very interesting world."
Tiger Shroff enjoys immense fan following especially among youth of the country and since the trailer of 'Student of The Year 2' has released, it has been trending on various social media platforms, thanking his fans and followers for their love and support, Tiger said, "I am thankful for my fans and audience for giving me so much love than I deserve. It because of them I have the strength to fly. I truly don't believe that I was born for this (acting in films). I have put in a lot of effort and I credit it to all the people with whom I have worked and in this film, it was Punit (Malhtora) and Karan (Johar) sir and of course my two co-actors so, it's a huge team effort."
Talking about his first collaboration with Dharma Production, Tiger said, "I feel very grateful that I got this opportunity to work with Dharma Productions. It's my first film with them and what better film it would have been than 'Student of The Year 2' to start off my collaboration with them."
When asked Tiger if given a chance whether he would like to challenge Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhtora for which sporting event as they have also played role of a student in earlier franchise, he said, "I would like to take on Varun probably in dance competition and athletics. Sidharth would be a good challenge if he was there for Kabbadi because he is tall and athletic."
'Student of the Year 2' is directed by Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions, the film will be distributed by Fox Star Studios.
The film stars Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday, and is the film debut of both actresses.
It is set to release on 10 May 2019.
