Actor Mouni Roy says she follows her instinct when it comes to story and role selection during her recent media interaction.
Post her super successful television stint, actress Mouni Roy is making headways with her Film career, she has shown grit and craft with each role. She got four massive releases lined up - Romeo Akbar Walter, Brahmastra, Made in China and Bole Chudiyan.
Talking about role selection, Mouni said, "It is always the instinct and story as well. Whenever I read a script, I check what's the story is all about, Is it an interesting story, Do I want to be part of this story, then comes my character; how my character is relevant to this story and If I think I have something to do with the part and it excites me, and if I feel the role is challenging and it will be a learning experience, I take up role"
Mouni Roy is currently geared up with RAW – Romeo Akbar Walters – an espionage action thriller film written and directed by Robbie Grewal, also starring John Abraham, Jackie Shroff and Sikandar Kher in the lead roles.
Talking about coming onboard RAW, Mouni said, "Robbie Grewal narrated me the story, and during the half narration, I knew I wanted to be part of this film. It is a very interesting story; it is about a man, who gives up everything for his country. He sacrifices his name, family and his love, for his country. And this film celebrates those nameless people, who go unnoticed and nobody will get to know the amount of courage and sacrifice they have done for the love of their country"
Talking about her role, which was challenging, Mouni said, "The challenge was to play this subtle character who doesn't talk much; I am the most talkative person. But this one was very subdued; she does most of her talking with her eyes. I had to completely follow Robbie's vision and I have tried to keep it as organic and spontaneous as I could because the director didn't want a very rehearsed role, so let's see"
The film is slated to release on 5 April 2019.
