I Always Wanted To Do A Regional Film Says Kangana Ranaut
Actress Kangana Ranaut recently confirmed her next, a biopic based on actress turned politician Jayalalithaa, titled Thalaivi.
Actress Kangana Ranaut recently confirmed her next, a biopic based on actress turned politician Jayalalithaa, titled Thalaivi. The actress says she always wanted to do a regional film.
Kangana Ranaut hosted a Birthday party press-meet at her Mumbai residence on the eve of her 32nd birthday celebration.
Talking about the project, Kangana said, "I always wanted to do regional films because when we visit Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh, they watch regional cinema there, so there is a lot of disconnect with that part of the country. I was hoping that someday I might come across a good opportunity, and this just came my way and I was thinking about making a biopic on myself and I was working on it, but her story is similar to mine, and it is such a hugely successful story, much more successful than mine and when I heard the narration, I could find a lot of similarities, and I thought I could do this or that, at this point. So I decided to be a part of Jayalalithaa biopic"
Titled Thalaivi in Tamil and Jaya in Hindi, the film is a bilingual and will be directed by Vijay. The film will be written by K.V. Vijayendra Prasad and will be produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh under the banners of Vibri & Karma Media and Entertainment.
Sharing details about her first regional project, Kangana said, "The film will be made mainly in Tamil and it will have a Hindi release as well, but mostly in Tamil"
The actress also added that she will be learning Tamil for the project. She said, "I would most certainly learn the language unless I fail miserably and my part needs to be dubbed, but I would definitely learn"
Kangana also had a small cake-cutting ceremony with the media at her residence.
On the work front, Kangana will next be seen in 'Mental Hai Kya' along with her 'Queen' co-star Rajkummar Rao and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's 'Panga'.
