Be it Bollywood, Tollywood or Kollywood, the filmmakers and stars are leaving no stone unturned in making noise! Off late, B-Town's Khiladi actor Akshay Kumar announced his next movie and surprised all his fans. This time, he picked a biopic and will step into the shoes of Major General Ian Cardozo to showcase the important glimpses of his life story.
Akshay Kumar shared the title and first look poster on his Twitter page on the occasion of Dussehra… Take a look!
In the two posters released, Akshay looked terrific and intense along with other soldiers. He is seen shouting and sported in an army uniform holding the knife. In the second one, he looked terrific covering a half side of his face with the knife. Sharing the posters, he also wrote, "Sometimes you come across stories so inspiring that you just want to make them. #Gorkha - on the life of legendary war hero, Major General Ian Cardozo is one such film. Gorkha movie is being directed by Sanjay Chauhan and is bankrolled by Anand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under the Colour Yellow Productions banners.
Well, the producer Anand L Rai is happy to collaborate with Akshay Kumar for the third time after Raksha Bandhan and Atrangi Re movies. This time, it is the tale of 1971 Indo-Pak war hero Major General Ian Cardozo who fought hard in the war. National Award winner director, Sanjay Puran Singh is all set to helm the movie.
Speaking about the movie, Major General Ian Cardozo doled out, "I feel honoured for this story to be told on the 50th anniversary of the 1971 war. It commemorates the courage and sacrifice of the armed forces of India. I look forward to working with Aanand and Akshay as they bring this to life. This story reflects the values and spirit of every officer of the Indian Army."
Speaking about the Atrangi Re movie, it is directed by Anand L Rai and is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Akshay Kumar under T-Series and Cape Of Good Films banners. According to the sources, Sara will be seen in a dual role romancing with both the lead actors Akshay and Dhanush.
Well, Raksha Bandhan showcases the love, bonding and attachment of a brother and sisters. Akshay Kumar will essay the role of brother and Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb and Smrithi Srikanth will be seen as his sisters.
