Amitabh Bachchan Shares The Story Of His Marriage With Jaya On The Occasion Of His 47th Wedding Anniversary

Amitabh Bachchan is celebrating 47 years of marital bliss with Jaya Bachchan… These both veteran actors tied a knot on 3rd June, 1973 in the presence of their family and loved ones.

We all know that this power couple of Bollywood acted together in flicks like Abhimaan, Ek Nazar and Zanjeer. They first worked together in Bansi Birju movie which was released in1972… Rolling back to the love story of this couple, we will move to the wedding story of this couple… Big B was actually planning to visit London to celebrate the success of his movie Zanjeer in 1973 along with Jaya and a few other friends.

Well, after Amitabh told about his plans to his father, but Harivansh Rai Bachchan suggested him to first get married to Jaya… This made Amitabh and Jaya tie a knot amidst their family members in an intimate wedding ceremony instead of catching a flight to London on June 3, 1973….

Well, Amitabh also added a few lines alongside this post… "47 years... today... June 3, 1973... Had decided if Zanjeer would succeed, we would along with a few friends go to London for the first time... My Father asked who are you going with?

When I told him who, he said you must marry her before you go... else you don't go... So... I obeyed…

Rolling back to last year's wedding post of Amitabh Bachchan, he wrote that, "I dress up in formal marriage Indian .. get into my car and want to drive to Malabar Hill where her friends lived and where the ceremony was to be done .. my driver Nagesh, pushes me out and insist he would drive me to the wedding .. the substitute for the tradition horse .. Waiting all set at Mangal, the name of the house on rent on the 7th road JVPD Scheme .. and it begins to drizzle .. neighbours rush out to me .. leave for the wedding now .. the rain is a good omen .. off I went .. wedding over in a few hours .. done .. Mr and Mrs proclaimed .. over!!"
