‘Bhooth Bangla’ release postponed to April 16

The release date of the upcoming horror-comedy film Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, has been officially postponed. The makers recently announced that the film will now arrive in theatres on April 16, 2026, instead of its earlier scheduled release on April 10.
Producer Ektaa Kapoor shared the update through social media, explaining that the decision was taken after discussions with distributors and exhibitors. The change comes in the wake of the exceptional box office performance of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the action thriller starring Ranveer Singh, which continues to dominate theatres.
In her statement, Kapoor mentioned that the strong run of Dhurandhar: The Revenge is encouraging for the film industry and exhibitors. However, shifting the release of Bhooth Bangla will allow both films to enjoy adequate screen space and audience attention. The film is now scheduled to begin its theatrical run with its first show at 9 PM on April 16.
Directed by Priyadarshan, the film marks the much-awaited reunion of the filmmaker with Akshay Kumar. The duo has previously delivered several popular comedy entertainers that remain fan favourites, making their collaboration once again a major highlight for audiences.
The film features an ensemble cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, and Mithila Palkar in key roles. The project is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor.
With the revised release date, the romantic action film Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh, Anurag Kashyap, and Mrunal Thakur, will now enjoy a solo theatrical release on April 10, 2026.
