Hyderabad: Onida, a brand of consumer durable manufacturer Mirc Electronics,said it is eyeing 35 to 40 per cent growth in revenues for its air-conditioner segment during the current year.
Also, Onidasaid it increased its spend on television advertising to increase their market share in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The company said it has rolled out its new television advertisement with the campaign tag line of 'Onida's Air Conditioners convert Narakam (Hell) in to Swargam (Heaven)'.
This television ad will run throughout this month in all leading Telugu Channels, it added. Vijay Mansukhani, MD,Mirc Electronics, said: "Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have remained a prime marketfor more than three decades for Onida's products.
Especially, contribution from these States to our air conditioner business is higher followed by west and other parts of the country."
Further, he said that with the recently launched models like Onyxs (voice-enabled AC) and smart inverter AC Genio, the company has witnessed a jump in revenues.
Currently, inverter ACs contribution to ourtotal air conditioner revenue is65 percent.The future in the AC segmentis going to be around the Internet of Things (IoT) models,he added.
