Hyderabad: General Atlantic (GA) on Monday appoined Mavila Vishwanathan (MV) Nair as the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of KFin Technologies with immediate effect. Karvy Fintech has been renamed as KFin Technologies after Karvy Stock Broking plunged in crisis.
Nair is the current Chairman of TransUnion CIBIL as also an advisor to select private equity and venture capital funded companies in India. He most recently served as Chairman and Managing Director of Union Bank of India and as Chairman of SWIFT and Indian Banks' Association.
GA has been the controlling shareholder of KFin Technologies (earlier Karvy Fintech), a leading provider of investor and issuer services for the asset management industry and Indian corporations, for over a year now.
The company is one of the largest registrars, servicing over 90 million investor accounts spread over 2,900 issuers including banks, PSUs, other corporates and mutual funds in India and South East Asia.
With a workforce of over 5,000 experienced professionals drawn from various disciplines, and over 200 branches pan India, the company currently manages about $90B of AUM processing nearly 5 lak transactions daily.
