Infra connectivity critical for IT growth in Hyd: Hysea
Planned infrastructure development both public and corporate will be vital for IT growth in Hyderabad, said a top official of The Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (Hysea).
Hyderabad: Planned infrastructure development both public and corporate will be vital for IT growth in Hyderabad, said a top official of The Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (Hysea).
Speaking to The Hans India on the sidelines of Hysea's maiden 'Infrastructure Summit' here in Hyderabad, Murali Bollu, president, Hysea, said: "IT industry's growth is dependent on multiple factors like attracting talent pool and providing infrastructure facilities that can match up to the rising talent pool.
There are two dimensions to infrastructure – public and private. While the former encompasses roads, metro rail network and connectivity to the city, bulk of the IT campuses are under private supervision or under the purview of corporate real estate where corporate sustainability and facility management enhances the broader built environment."
He went on to add, "If Hyderabad can strike a good balance between external and internal infrastructure, attracting and retaining talent pool will be easy which in the long-term will augur well for the IT industry in the State." The association with more than 300 members, predominantlyrepresents the IT, ITeS and software products industry, both domestic &export-oriented units in the state.
When asked about the motive behind organizing the summit, Murali said: "The role of Hysea is all-encompassing. Its activities include everything that has an impact on the software industry in Hyderabad. It serves as a platform for its member companies to interact with the government as well as compete in the global market. While we have been engaging ourselves in the talent pool development through job fairs and skilling young talent, we have not done enough on the infrastructure front till date and hence summit on infrastructure."
"The theme of the Summit is 'Future Frontiers of Corporate Real Estate' which is aimed at giving insights to excel in corporate real estate in the broader built environment and help the facilities teams to understand what are the best practices to go green, to use less electricity, more natural light and air to enhance the work and life experience of the IT employees."
"Planning for an office before it becomes fully operational with water automation facilities and power saving electrical appliances in a cost-effective way will attract more companies to the IT parks. So, keeping all these issues in mind, we are stretching ourselves beyond core software and hardware in enabling the IT industry grow in Hyderabad from a realty perspective.
The measures on realty front will mainly benefit the small and medium sized companies as any little saving they do is equivalent to investment into the future." When asked if Hysea is open to initiatives from other industry bodies like The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in enabling a sustainable built environment for all and facilitate IT industry in Hyderabad, Murali said: "We are willing to partner with any organization which can provide us used cases which in turn, will help IT industry in Hyderabad."
