This modular design, using patterns like Dependency Injection and Factory, simplified upgrades and maintenance, securing the longevity of the system.

Data engineering plays a pivotal role in most of his projects, and Pattabi has harnessed this to create impactful solutions. One notable project was at Microsoft, where he developed an ETL pipeline for SAP Finance Master Data using Azure Data Factory and Cosmos DB. “I automated data ingestion from multiple sources, which then powered real-time analytics dashboards using Power BI. This not only eliminated downtime but provided fresh insights to stakeholders,” he reflects. His expertise in data frameworks like SSIS and Databricks has enabled him to transform raw data into actionable business insights, proving that data-driven decision-making is a game-changer.

Security and reliability are non-negotiable for Pattabi, especially in large-scale applications. He embeds security into design, following principles like zero-trust and defense-in-depth. “For the ECIT project at Microsoft, we used role-based access controls and automated compliance checks to minimise vulnerabilities,” he explains. Reliability, on the other hand, comes through resilient deployment pipelines and real-time monitoring, ensuring systems are always up and running.

Having worked with both open-source and enterprise technologies, Pattabi knows how to balance flexibility with robustness. “Open-source tools like AngularJS and ReactJS offer customisation that proprietary solutions can’t,” he notes. By combining the strengths of both, he has consistently delivered high-impact solutions that drive innovation.
