Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 Readily Available In Most Cities This September

Most hatchbacks on the list are readily available in most cities with the maximum time for any car stretching to two months

• The Baleno can be had immediately in 13 out of 20 cities but can command between four to six weeks in some places.

• The Hyundai Elite i20 has a waiting period in two cities, and even that is two weeks or less.

• Despite being made on the same assembly line, the Glanza features a longer waiting period than the Baleno in most cities.

• The Honda Jazz can be had within 20 days after placing your order.

With the festive season looming large and many looking to get their hands on a new car, we decided to take a look at the waiting periods for popular premium hatchbacks sold in the country. We intentionally omitted the Volkswagen Polo from this list as the German carmaker just launched a facelift for the hatchback and its waiting period is not yet available.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Apart from Bangalore, Kolkata, Surat, Chandigarh, Patna, Coimbatore and Faridabad, the Baleno is readily available in every other city on the list. This is quite surprising since Baleno is quite a popular model for Maruti. Buyers in Patna and Coimbatore will have to wait for more than a month to take home a new Baleno, though.

Hyundai Elite i20: The Elite i20 is another popular model on the list and just like the Baleno, you will only have to wait in a couple of cities before getting one home. Only buyers in Indore (10 days) or Chennai (2 weeks) will have to face any waiting period. Otherwise, the Elite i20 can be had without any wait in other cities on the list.

Toyota Glanza: While the Glanza might be a Baleno underneath, the wait time for the two cars are quite different. If you are looking to buy a Toyota Glanza, you will have to wait it out a little bit more than in case of the Baleno. The waiting period for the Toyota hatchback doesn’t exceed a month in most cities, although you will have to wait for almost two months if you are looking to buy one in Kolkata. Buyers in New Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Surat, Ghaziabad, Patna, Indore and Ghaziabad can take the Glanza home without any wait.

Honda Jazz: The Jazz comes with a waiting period in seven cities, namely Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Thane, Ghaziabad and Coimbatore. Despite a waiting period in these cities, the maximum time it will take for you to take a new Jazz home is 20 days.  In all other cities, the Honda Jazz can be bought without any waiting period.
