Anantapur: Election campaigning by YSRCP candidates reached a feverish pitch with hardly 8 days left. YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy's campaign rallies in support of his candidates has given a new boost to the party candidates and cadre as massive crowds attended party chief's election rallies. The impact of the meetings gave a new morale boost to the candidates.
Jaganmohan had so far visited Rayadurgam, Dharmavaram, Tadipatri, Kadiri, Madakasira and Somandepalle. He is expected to cover the remaining constituencies also in the coming days. All YSRCP activists are teeming with life as they see a new hope in the response to Jagan's rallies throughout the State.
Anantapur Assembly candidate Anantha Venkatarami Reddy, a 4-time MP and now an MLA candidate is challenging the sitting MLA V Prabhakar Choudhury, who is sweating it out to retain the seat. B Gurunath Reddy, an ex-MLA, who shifted to TDP an year ago had rejoined YSRCP and is actively campaigning for Venkatarami Reddy. Reddy is giving a tough fight to the beleaguered sitting MLA as he faces foes from within the party, who opposed his candidature.
In Puttaparthi, YSRCP candidate Duddukunta Sridhar Reddy is concentrating on hundreds of youth, who have become first time voters by creating an awareness on the fluid political situation in the State. He had been explaining in detail the Navaratnalu and many more welfare schemes added recently. He is promising an era of happiness created by creation of jobs and welfare bonanzas promised to all sections of people.
Speaking to 'The Hans India' Sridhar said that the people have already decided to try YSRCP as Jagan Reddy had been on the roads fighting for people for over 9 years. Sitting MLA of Uravakonda Y Vishweshwar Reddy is trying his luck once again and is fighting the mighty TDP candidate Payyavula Keshav.
A neck-to-neck fight prevails as of now in the constituency. In Rayadurgam constituency, Kapu Ramachandra Reddy is on a hectic mission meeting people and to crack down on Minister Kalava Sreenivas bastion. Sreenivas has an uphill task as he faces loss of support from sections that once stood with him including ex-MLC Mettu Govinda Reddy, who deserted him and is supporting YSRCP. So is sitting MLC Deepak Reddy, who is half hearted in his support to Kalava.
The YSRCP fortunately does not have internal problems or dissidence as most of the candidates had been finalised by Jagan 6 months ago. The YSRCP district unit is confident of improving its tally from 2 seats in 2014 to at least 8 seats now. With still, 9 days left for campaigning, YS Vijayamma and even YS Sharmila are also expected to campaign in the district and further electrify the campaigning of its candidates.
