Amaravati: The State government has appointed Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad as Chairman of Official Language Commission on Tuesday. The government has issued GO No 10 in this regard. He will continue in the post for two years.

Praveen Kumar, Secretary, Tourism and Culture, has made a provision to appoint another four members in the Commission along with the Chairman. Recipient of Sahitya Akademi and Padma Bhushan awards, Yarlagadda also served as a Rajya Sabha member.
