Tirupati: Women voters outnumber men in Chittoor district electoral roll which is 31,83,169 as on March 25. According to official sources, the district has 16,05,726 female voters against male 15,77,106.
Interestingly the women voters outnumber men in 12 Assembly constituencies (ACs) against 14 in the district. In other words, except Kuppam and GD Nellore the male voters are less than female voters in Chittoor district. The details of constituency wise women voters and male voters (given in brackets) are as follows ( in the table).
The total number of third gender voters in the district is 337. The total number of voters in the district has increased from 30,25,222 to 31,83,169 with the addition of 1,57,947 voters in the enrolment of new voters taken up from January 11 to March 25, ahead of the election.
In the enrolment of new voters, Tirupati stood at the top with 33,941 applications being accepted for enrolling as voters, followed by Chandragiri 21,237 while Kuppam Assembly is at the bottom with 3,999 voters added after the publication of final list of voters on January 11, after the summary revision of electoral roll taken nationwide.
