Vizianagaram: The tribal engineering college in the district is all set to start from the next academic year. This was revealed by Deputy Chief Minister P Pushpasrivani on Wednesday.

The Deputy Chief Minister visited the government polytechnic buildings along with District Collector M Hari Jawaharlal and Prof M Ramalinga Raju, Principal of JNTU College of engineering.

Later, Pushpasrivani held discussions with officials and academicians and directed them to study the possibilities of starting the college in the buildings of government polytechnic and in some other hostel buildings available here.

"Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is determined to develop the backward areas. As a part of it, engineering college is allotted for our region and medical college for Paderu area in Vizag district," she said. She called upon the officials and academicians to decide whether all branches in the proposal tribal engineering college should be launched.
