Vizag used to strike a chord with K Viswanath
- He used to frequent Vizag not just to shoot films but to attend events too
- The legendary director used to enjoy the scenic beauty of Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam: Kalatapasvi K Viswanath had a strong connection with Visakhapatnam. From mega star Chiranjeevi to Sudhakar, the legendary director had given a fresh lease of life to a host of actors and moulded their career.
Back then, 'Subhalekha' was Viswanath's first movie made in Visakhapatnam. Following which, Suravajhala Sudhakar eventually became 'Subhalekha' Sudhakar.
Later, the iconic filmmaker wrote and directed 'Sagara Sangamam' that had garnered overwhelming craze among the viewers and earned Nandi Award for the director. This movie too was canned in Vizag.
Meanwhile, the platinum audio disc function of the film 'Subhapradam' was hosted in Vizag in the presence of K Viswanath.
Apparently, the director frequented Visakhapatnam to participate in various events, including inaugural and felicitating programmes. In Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer film 'Narasimha Naidu', the director essayed a role. Part of the movie was shot in Simhachalam shrine. Recalling his association with the filmmaker, noted skin specialist and founder-president of Visakha Rasagna Vedika, a forum that promotes Telugu literature, art and culture, G Raghurama Rao says, "Back then, the vedika was launched formally by filmmaker K Viswanath in 2010.
Along with highlighting Telugu tradition and culture, K Viswanath's films strike a chord with all sections of people. His movies are not only adorable but also could be watched with family members as there will not be any trace of vulgarity."
In one of the interviews, Viswanath opined that Visakhapatnam lends a suitable ambience for the filmmakers.
