VIT-AP University holds orientation programme
Dr D Subhakar, vice-chancellor of VIT –AP University has said the university is drifting from traditional pattern of examination to open book examination on digital pads, which assess students based on their ability to reproduce knowledge.
Vijayawada: Dr D Subhakar, vice-chancellor of VIT –AP University has said the university is drifting from traditional pattern of examination to open book examination on digital pads, which assess students based on their ability to reproduce knowledge. Speaking on modern tools of education, he said engineering clinics is a theme based practical learning in every semester carrying credits.
Multi-disciplinary group of 5 to 6 students can select to work on a specific topic from a large group (140-150) of tasks or projects related to real world problems. Dr CLV Sivakumar, Registrar, VIT-AP University in his address said in International Transferring Programme, students can avail international credit transfer where "we are having collaborations with 11 universities."
For BBA programme, the collaboration is with Arizona State University, University of Michigan, Dearborne. Whereas for its engineering programmes, collaborations are with Purdue University, State University of New York, Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, University of Massachusetts, Queen Mary University, London, IE, Spain, Australian National University, Canberra, Royal Melbourne University, Melbourne, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane and Deakin University, Victoria.
Sankar Viswanathan, vice-president said that VIT-AP Chancellor signed an agreement with the Arizona State University (ASU) for a 2+2 programme whereby students joining BBA Business Analytics in VIT-AP can study 3rd and 4th year and get BS Business Analytics from ASU.
The management undergraduate programmes in Management and Quantitative Analysis from ASU are both ranked #10 by US News and World Report. It is also ranked #3 worldwide in Research Productivity by the Association for Information Systems Research Rankings (Based on Publications in the past 3 years). Admissions for the BBA Business Analytics are open. "For VFX and animation courses, we are offering in collaboration with Toonz academy," he added.
