Around 12 persons died after the leakage of Styrene gas from LG Polymers plant at RR Venkatapuram near Naiduthota on Thursday and many fell sick. It is learned that at least five villages within the three-kilometre radius affected due to the gas.
On Saturday, Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police D Gautam Sawang inspected the factory surroundings and enquired about the incident. He assured the public that there is no need to panic.
Meanwhile, several people staged a protest near the LG Polymers company with the dead bodies demanding the government to shift the company. The police are putting efforts to try to stop them from entering the company.
