Describes it as a brazen attack on the freedom of speech

Visakhapatnam: The Human Rights Forum (HRF) in unequivocal terms condemned the registration of a criminal case against Poonthota Ranganayaki (60) by the AP Criminal Investigation Department.

K Sudha, general secretary and G Sivanageswara Rao, vice-president of the HRF, said here on Wednesday that filing of the case amounts to a brazen attack on freedom of speech.

Demanding withdrawal of case, they said, "It undermined constitutionally guaranteed rights to know, debate, differ, critique and dissent which are quintessential rights for the sustenance of a healthy and democratic society."

The post shared by Ranganayaki raised 20 valid questions about the method of investigation in the LG Polymers case, the HRF team stated.

It is ironic that a case is registered against a concerned person who raises these important questions, while those who have blood on their hands are left scot-free to destroy crucial evidence and commit a few more crimes with impunity, they mentioned.
