Village secretariat system to function from Jan 1: JC M Venugopal Reddy
Joint Collector M Venugopal Reddy has informed Principal Secretaries of Panchayat Raj, Village development, Municipal Administration and other departments that the district administration has taken tall steps for the effective functioning of village/ward secretariat system from January 1.
Eluru: Joint Collector M Venugopal Reddy has informed Principal Secretaries of Panchayat Raj, Village development, Municipal Administration and other departments that the district administration has taken tall steps for the effective functioning of village/ward secretariat system from January 1.
Attending a videoconference with the officials, he said that all measures have been taken to keep the village/ward secretariats on track. The training session for all the selected candidates for the village/ward secretary posts would be completed by December 15.
Practice sessions would be conducted for them by making available computers and printers procured from village organisations from December 15. Internet connectivity and electric supply have been provided to all secretariats and painting works are in progress. The tender process was finalised for supply of furniture to all secretariats by the end of this month.
Two 'Spandana' counters and notice board have been arranged in every secretariat. The district administration has taken steps for filling of vacant secretary posts and sports quota at the earliest. Measures have also been taken for the proper coordination between the secretariat and volunteer systems, he explained.
Joint Collector-2 N Tej Bharat, ZP CEO M Venkataramana, Panchayat Officer Viswanath, Eluru Municipal Commissioner Chandrasekhar and others were present.
