Vijayawada: Pawan Kalyan calls for public punishment for criminals

Vijayawada: Disha's episode should be an eye-opener and the perpetrators of such crimes should be punished in public, said Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan. He reacted to Disha's encounter on Friday.
In a statement, Pawan Kalyan said that Disha incident and the fate of criminals was a warning bell for everyone that the existing laws were not sufficient to protect the girls.
"One would shivering in rage, anger, and agitation when we just think of the agony and pain of Disha in the hands of four human beasts on the fateful night. It is an emotional craving by the whole nation seeking instant justice. We shall consider the Disha incident a closed chapter.
No other girl shall face such kind of situation. Our parliament has a strong law after the Nirbhaya incident, but there is no let up in the atrocities against women," he said.
He said that the incidents further indicate that more and tougher decisions have to be taken up. "It is the need of the hour to enact the most severe and fool-proof laws to instil fear even to look at the girls with perversion. A study must be conducted on what are the laws in vogue in other countries.
Intellectuals should come forward and we shall end such ghastly incidents with their thought process. There shall be instant justice in such cases through the courts. The rules must be framed in such a way that the culprits shall be punished within 2-3 weeks.
In view of the safety of the girls, the punishments must be implemented in public even it may be death or some other," the Jana Sena president said.
