Vijayawada: District Collector A Md Imtiaz on Saturday stated that all shops and malls can be opened in non-containment zones in the city from June 8 strictly following the guidelines issued by the Union government.
Addressing the representatives of malls, shops, hotels and restaurants, the collector elaborated the guidelines issued by the government as per the GO 288.
The collector made it clear that the restrictions would be in place in the containment zones in the city. "The movie theatres situated in the shopping malls should not be opened," he pointed out.
Referring to food courts and restaurants, the collector said only 50 per cent of the capacity would be allowed and the tables and chairs should be arranged accordingly. Top priority should be given to sanitisation by cleaning the tables and chairs every time the customers left the restaurant, he said.
He suggested people above 65 years and children below 10 years should stay home and the customers should be sanitised to that effect.
"The shopping malls should maintain the temperature between 24 and 30 degrees and the malls and restaurants should provide e-valet facility to the customers," he said.
He advised the hotels and restaurant managements to use disposable items and paper napkins. "In case, they come across any suspected persons, the officials should be immediately informed," he made it clear.
All the staff members should use masks compulsorily and there should be thermal scanning facility. Physical distance should be maintained at even the escalators and lifts. The games and play areas for children should be closed, he said. The timings for the shopping malls and restaurants would be intimated later.
In case of temples and other places of worship, the collector said that the temples should be kept open from 6 am to 7 pm. All the devotees should be encouraged to download Arogya Sethu app. The symptomatic devotees should be stopped from entering the temple premises. The addresses, phone numbers, Aadhaar card details of the devotees should be collected.
