Vijayawada : 17-year-old student dies as 108 ambulance goes on VVIP duty

Vijayawada: A 17-year-old student named T Rakesh collapsed outside his college after writing an exam. Due to the non-availability of life support system at a local government hospital in Gannavaram, he was referred to Vijayawada Government General Hospital.

His family alleged that when they approached the '108' ambulance, they were informed that the ambulance was on VVIP duty, hence unavailable.

The vehicle was allegedly deployed for the Governor's convoy at Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada city.

The delay caused due to the unavailability of the ambulance. It led to the teen's death, as per the hospital authorities.
