Video song to inspire para sportspersons in Visakhapatnam
‘Life is a precious boon and we don’t run away from fear. We will accomplish our goals one day.
Visakhapatnam: 'Life is a precious boon and we don't run away from fear. We will accomplish our goals one day.' These inspiring lines form a part of the 5:39 minutes new video-song dedicated for para sportspersons.
Written, produced, directed, composed, edited and sung by Arun Vedula, a Vizianagaram-based singer and IT professional, 70 per cent of the video song is being shot in Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad and the rest in Visakhapatnam.
Though Arun worked on a couple of video songs that centred on anti-smoking and farmers' suicide, this is the first time that he has come up with something which is close to his heart. "I am pretty surprised by the way the differently-abled players remain content with whatever they have.
There is something to learn from their grit and determination and the way they stand up every time they fall off from their wheelchairs while playing basketball," elaborates Arun, who is settled in Hyderabad.
The video song showcases the team spirit of the differently-abled sportspersons. "When we spent time with para sportspersons while practicing wheelchair basketball and other sports, it is amazing to see their never-give-up attitude and fierce way of competing with the teams," recalls Arun.
The Hindi-English video song, made in collaboration with Global Aid, an NGO that works to empower the differently-challenged persons, comes along with subtitles in English and Hindi. Along with Arun, a portion of the song is also being sung by his wife Hema Pantula and founder-president of the NGO Sai Padma.
"Some of the champions of wheelchair basketball from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been featured in the visuals, including Shankar and Satyavathi, who are into international wheelchair basketball," he adds.
Elaborating on the to-be-launched video song centred on the theme 'We are able and we are not disabled', Sai Padma of Global Aid says, "This is probably the first video song dedicated for para sportspersons. Though there is an anthem brought out for para sports, a full-length video song for differently-abled sportspersons is sure to inspire many."
