Amaravati: YSR Vahana Mitra scheme under which a cash incentive of Rs 10,000 would be given to drivers who own autorickshaws, cars and maxi cabs will be launched on October 4.
Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy promised during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra that all the self-employed autorickshaw and taxi drivers will get Rs 10,000 financial assistance every year. The aim of the scheme is the amount could be useful for the drivers for repair, vehicle fitness and insurance expenses."
Transport department sent the YSR Vaahana Mitra applications to all the district collectors and the verification process will be completed by September 30. Of the 1,75,218 applications received so far, 93,741 applications have been verified.
For the remaining applications, verification will be completed by September 30. The government has received applications through offline, online and directly to make the application process easy to the drivers. Also, the applications have been available at the newly-recruited village and ward volunteers.
The government asked all the applicants to submit the copies of Aadhaar card, white ration card, vehicle registration certificate, driving licence, first page of bank pass book that doesn't bear any loans. Only eligible drivers who submit required documents will be included in the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme, said the officials at the Chief Minister Office at the Secretariat.
