Unprecedented chaos in conducting polls to local bodies
- TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu wonders how CM YS Jagan could launch ‘Nigha’ app after the State Election Commission issues notification for the local body polls
- Alleges that the CM is acting like a Super Election Commissioner
- Points out that there is only 10.49 per cent reservation for BCs in Nellore district and describes YS Jagan as traitor of the backward classes
- Also finds fault with the govt for interfering in the functioning of Mansas Trust
Mangalagiri: Expressing concern over the unprecedented chaos in conducting elections to the local bodies in the State, TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu wondered as to what was the connection between the Nigha app and the Chief Minister.
"How could the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launch such an app after the Election Commission announced the election notification?" he questioned.
It is really surprising that the State Election Commissioner justifies the party colours to the government buildings. "How could he say that it would be unanimous election in the majority of the contests," Naidu asked.
He lambasted the Chief Minister for acting like a Super Election Commissioner. Referring to the chaos in the elections, he said that the reservations were announced as per the State government's wish and the election schedule and the notifications were issued at the same time.
The TDP national president appealed to the people to apply brakes to the speed of the YSRCP in the local body elections. Recalling that there was only 10.49 per cent reservation for the backward classes in Nellore district and not a single seat in the 16 mandals were reserved for the backward classes, he said that Jagan would go down the history as the traitor of the backward classes.
He said that there was no safety for the poor and their property because YSRCP leaders were hoisting their flags in
their lands forcing them to commit suicide.
Naidu said that the government revenue had come down considerably and the debts were mounting. In a bid engulf the property of the Mansas Trust, the government was interfering in its activities.
The ruling party leaders were attempting to frighten the common people, he alleged and wondered what leaders like Vijayasai Reddy, Ayodhya Rami Reddy, Sajjala and YV Subba Reddy got to do with the local body elections.
He announced setting up a command control room of the TDP with the number 7995014525 and appealed to people to seek help if they were troubled.
People should come forward to check the influence of money and liquor in the local body elections and hand them over to the police, he said.
Naidu appealed to the people to think once again before casting their votes.
