Tirupati: MCT demolishes swimming pool on proposed master plan road
As part of master plan, MCT proposes to construct 80-ft wide road to ease traffic problems in pilgrim city Tirupati and take up demolishing encroachments
Tirupati: Municipal Corporation authorities on Sunday demolished a swimming pool complex built on the 80 ft master plan road proposed by the corporation to ease traffic problems in the city.
Corporation town planning officials along with their personnel in noticed the swimming pool constructed in about one acre land by a group of private persons on the proposed master plan road in Vinayak Nagar area behind Guest Line Hotel in the city. They demolished the swimming pool and other constructions by using heavy machinery.
Senior officials including Assistant City Planner (ACP) Srinivasulu, Deputy Assistant City Planner Devi Kumari and Deputy Commissioner Chandramoulisawar Reddy supervised the demolition operation of the private swimming pool which was kept closed due to pandemic Covid-19since March. The operation demolition began after dawn and completed in a few hours.
A senior official on condition of anonymity said that the Corporation is keen on completing the master plan road which is needed for easing traffic congestion on the busy Tirumala Bypass Road and also in other roads in the city. Survey and land acquisition for the 3-km road is going briskly for taking up the works soon.
