Tirupati: Civic authorities remove encroachments in pilgrim city

Tirupati: The officials of Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) are dealing encroachers with iron hand and started demolishing the encroached constructions and ramps on pavements.

For the last one week, MCT Additional Commissioner Haritha issued notices to them for violating building construction rules. She is inspecting the construction sites and examining the building planning approvals. If she finds any violation, she orders for removal of encroachment.

Commissioner PS Girisha assigned planning department execution powers to Additional Commissioner Haritha and she took initiative to remove encroachments. Recently 10 constructions were demolished by the Planning task force team for violating the rules.

Similarly, few days ago public lodged complaints to municipal authorities on pavement encroachments in Air Bypass road to LakshmiPuram circle. In the 4 km stretch main road all the commercial establishments owners , shops and hoteliers have occupied the pavements and they constructed rams and set up publicity boards, hoardings. It was turned as hurdle of pedestrians to walk on pavements.

Additional Commissioner Haritha has taken action to clear all the encroachments and the Task Force teams have cleared all the encroachments on both sides pavements on Air Bypass Road.

Commissioner has provided all the demolished equipment and required vehicles and machinery to the task force teams for clearing encroachments in the city on daily basis
