Ever since the announcement of local body elections in the state, the important leaders from TDP are deserting the party one after the other and lined up into ruling YSRCP. Off late, another prominent leader in Anantapur district is all set to shift loyalty to YSRCP. TDP senior leader, MLC Shamanthakamani and her daughter former MLA Yamini Bala will join the YSRCP in the presence of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy today. The two are reportedly held talks with their activists and fans in the constituency.

Shamanthakamani and Yamini Bala have been unhappy with the way the TDP chief Chandrababu has been acting who is giving the preference to the second grade leaders in the constituency. Samanthakamani did not attend the recent legislative session. There was an interesting discussion in the TDP that the they may leave the party. But sources say that she did not attend legislative council due to ill health.

Samanthakamani's daughter Yamini Bala who won the 2014 election as an MLA from the Singanamala constituency of Anantapur district was not given a chance again in 2019 where Bandaru Sravani was given a ticket. Bandar Shravani continues to be in charge of the constituency after the election, which led the two leaders to stay away from the party.

Shamanthakamani is a senior leader in TDP. Chandrababu was given the chance for her daughter Yamini Bala in 2014. But by 2019 the whole scene has changed and Singanamala constituency candidate has been replaced with the advice of former MP JC Diwakar Reddy and district leaders. Despite Samanthakamani's effort Yamini Bala was not given tickets due to political equations.
