Take schemes to beneficiaries doorsteps: Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramanarao
Minister for Marketing, Veterinary and Fisheries and district-in-charge Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramanarao said that he was happy to hold a District Review Committee meeting (DRC) after six years in the East Godavari.
Kakinada: Minister for Marketing, Veterinary and Fisheries and district-in-charge Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramanarao said that he was happy to hold a District Review Committee meeting (DRC) after six years in the East Godavari.
In the meeting, held at Zilla Parishad Conference Hall on Friday, Mopidevi exhorted the officials to make coordinated efforts to develop the city. He said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was bringing revolutionary changes in the governance by setting up Village Secretariat system and appointing volunteers.
He asked the officials to make efforts for taking the benefits of government schemes reach the beneficiaries. He also said the officials should strengthen the volunteer system for giving better governance to people.
Explaining the progress of Housing scheme, Joint Collector G Lakshmisha said that the district administration identified 3,17,455 beneficiaries of which 2,11,059 for urban areas and 1,06,399 in rural areas. He requested the public representatives to create awareness among beneficiaries on construction of G+3 houses.
Ramachandrapuram MLA Chelluboina Venugopala Krishna said the land meant for housing should be leveled. Responding to the MLA's request, Collector D Muralidhar Reddy said the land would be levelled under NREGS and the housing pattas would be given to beneficiaries after registration.
Razole MLA Rapaka Vara Prasad Rao said that 18 acres of land has been given to the beneficiaries previously for housing purpose, but it didn't provide any facilities. MLC I Venkateswar Rao said the government should take stringent steps for not selling house pattas to others by the beneficiaries.
Pithapuram MLA P Dorababu said 3,200 beneficiaries have been given pattas previously of which 511 pattas were encroached by the land grabbers. He requested the Collector to clear the encroachments. BJP MLC Somu Veerraju suggested the government that it should give pattas to real beneficiaries to construct houses themselves.
Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu said government has setup stabilization fund with Rs 3,000 crore to help the farmers who are cultivating Bengal gram and other alternative crops. Deputy Chief Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose said people belong to weaver community who cross 50 years age were given pension under Netanna Nestam scheme.
