According to the sources one acre of land which costs Rs 7 to 10lakhs till before the chief minister announcement abnormally rose 10 times than old tariff that is each acre present costs Rs 1crores despite there was no clarity in allocating Rs 250crores for proposed unit.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has officially announced that he would be laid foundation stone for establishment of steel plant on 26th January 2020 and see it will start functioning within three years of laying foundation for proposed unit.
It may be recalled that with the aim of providing direct and indirect employment to around 1.25lakh people, the steel plant was proposed to establish in Kadapa district. The central government aimed to produce 3lakh tones of steel per year by spending total Rs 10,000 crores in four phases as Rs 2,500 crores in each phase.
The state government prepared to provide 2,000 acres of government land in Mylavaram mandal as there was availability of infrastructure facilities like water, rail, road connectivity, and sufficient availability of iron ore from Obulapuram of Ananthapur district.
After intervention of vice president M.Venkaiah Naidu in to the issue in view of speed the works central government has adopted a high level committee headed by the Joint Secretary of Central Mining Department, AP Mining Secretary B.Sridhar, APMDC MD Venkaiah Chowdary, representatives from MECON Advisory Organization as they have visited Mylavaram mandal expressed satisfaction over feasibilities.

After YS Jagan Mohan Reddy become chief minister the issue again highlighted as YSR Congress government keen on completing project leads once again sudden spurt in the land cost like his father late YS Rajasekhar Reddy laid the foundation stone for Brahmani steel on 10th June 2007.
