Tirupati: The evaluation of SSC public examination answer scripts begins on Monday. The examinations were held from March 18 to 30 but evaluation could not be taken up earlier because of the election process. The authorities have made elaborate arrangements to provide all facilities for the examiners do their duty without any trouble.
More than 52,000 students attended the examinations from Chittoor district at 261 centres. But under jumbling system, these papers will go to some other district for evaluation and papers from another district have reached Chittoor.
Speaking to The Hans India, district education officer (DEO) Dr K Panduranga Swamy said that 5,41,775 answer scripts of all subjects reached the district for evaluation by examiners. The process of evaluation will be held at PCR Government High School, Chittoor, for 13 days from April 15. The staff deployment was completed to complete the process as per the schedule.
Accordingly, a total of 2,167 staff members were appointed for the purpose out of which 23 assistant camp officers, two deputy camp officers, 222 chief examiners, 1,310 assistant examiners and 610 special assistants are there. The DEO himself will act as camp officer. Each examiner will have to evaluate 40 papers on an average per day, the DEO said. Almost 30 per cent staff were kept in reserve also.
Panduranga Swamy reviewed the arrangements at the evaluation centre on Saturday and Sunday and gave instructions to the examiners on the process. He asked them to carefully evaluate all answer scripts without giving any scope for negligence in the best interests of the students.
Though the minister for human resources development Ganta Srinivasa Rao had said that the results would be announced on May 2, it may be delayed by at least another one week or so as the evaluation process will be completed by only April 27. Thereafter, computation and tabulation procedures have to be completed before the release of the results.
