On the auspicious occasion of Mukkoti Ekadasi, devotees in large numbers thronged Srisailam temple on Friday
Kurnool: On the auspicious occasion of Mukkoti Ekadasi, devotees in large numbers thronged Srisailam temple on Friday. In view of the huge turnout of devotees that throng the temple during the occasion, the authorities have made elaborate arrangements to tackle the situation. Temple Executive Officer (EO) K S Rama Rao, in a press release, has stated that following Covid norms the devotees can have the darshan of Swamy Amma varlu through Uttara Dwaram.
He said special prayers were offered to Swamy Amma varlu in the early hours later Ravana Vahana Seva and Alaya Utsavam were organised in the temple. But Ravana Vahana Seva Gramotsavam was not organised due to the prevalence of coronavirus, only Alaya Utsavam was organised.
The temple doors were opened at around 3.00 am, after cleaning the temple premises, Suprabhata Seva was performed to the presiding deities. At 4.30 Maha Mangala Harati was given to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Bharamarambhika Devi, said the EO.
After Mangala Harati, wishing the wellbeing of the human kind, the Archak Swamis and Veda Pundits have recited Utsava Sankalpam. Maha Ganapathi Puja was also performed for uninterrupted Utasava Pujas. Shodasopachara Puja was performed to the presiding deities after they are seated facing north at Swamy Amma varla Mukha Mandapam. The devotees can have the darshan of the utsava moorthis after Alaya Utsavam, the temple EO said.
Mukkoti Ekadasi which is regarded to be very auspicious, the shiva devotees have participated in Deeksha Viramana. The deeksha viramana would continue up to Saturday. The shiva devotees who have taken shiva mandala deeksha on November 16 and half mandala deeksha on December 6 are participating at deeksha viramana.
The deeksha viramana devotees would participate at irumudi and later they offer cow ghee and coconuts in homagundam. The deeksha viramana devotees are allowed to have special darshanam on paying Rs.150, stated the EO.
Similarly, almost all temples across the district have also witnessed huge numbers of devotees on the auspicious occasion of Mukkoti Ekadasi.
