Srikakulam: Class-IX and X pupils studying in regular government and residential schools, who are in agency and remote areas, do not have access to online classes and video- based teaching facility.

In the wake of Covid-19 lockdown, the State government has launched online classes and video-based lessons for the students through Doordarshan channel. The aim is to provide orientation to the students who completed Class X and also Class IX.

Particularly in agency areas of Sitampeta in Srikakulam, Parvathipuram in Vizianagaram and Paderu in Visakhapatnam districts, the students do not have access to the facility.

They are forced to depend on available books. In Srikakulam agency, a total of 1,874 students in 34 government residential schools have registered to appear for SSC examinations.

In addition to it, another 1,900 students studying in Class X in regular government schools are also residents of agency area and remote villages in the district.

All these students do not have access to online classes.
