Srikakulam: Superintendent of Police R N Ammi Reddy appreciated the services of Veeragattam police, who rescued accident victims by crossing border barriers.
The SP presented cash rewards to the Veeragattam police on Saturday at his office hailing their efforts. According details a car which was coming from Chattisgarh state met with an accident at Chilakam junction in Garugubelli mandal of Vizianagaram district in the early hours of Friday.
The car driver lost control over the vehicle and it was overturned. Seven persons were injured in the accident and one of the victim dialled 100 and the call was received by a home guard T Ramakrishna at Srikakulam office. Ramakrishna immediately alerted Veeragattam police and he also called to 108 ambulance services.
By crossing boundary barriers, Veeragattam SI G Bhaskar Rao along with constables T Polayya, K Ramakrishna and home guards K R Murthy and G Chinna Rao rushed to the spot and admitted the injured persons at Parvathipuram government hospital in Vizianagaram district in 108 ambulance services vehicle where the condition of the injured is said to be stable as they received treatment in golden period.
