Eluru: As part of the police commemoration week, the district police launched Swachh Bharat programme at all the social welfare hostels and schools in the district on Friday. As per directions of the Superintendent of Police, Navdeep Singh Grewal the police took up the initiative and took part in various programmes.
At Ameenapet social welfare hostel and Vatluru social welfare hostel, the SP also took part in the plantation. He planted saplings to inspire his staff. Speaking on the occasion, the SP said that by keeping surroundings clean, students can stay healthy.
The habit of planting saplings will help in protecting environment, he said. The police officials on the occasion, said that they would be taking up the sapling plantation as a practice and not as a mere activity limited for one or two days.
