The self-defence and self-protection programme by MEPMA and Stree Shakti Self Help Organisation in association with Ongole Municipal Corporation started in Ongole here on Tuesday.

Ongole: The self-defence and self-protection programme by MEPMA and Stree Shakti Self Help Organisation in association with Ongole Municipal Corporation started in Ongole here on Tuesday.

Municipal Commissioner K Sakunthala inaugurated the programme at CRP building at Ghosha Hospital and said that women having knowledge of self-defence are required these days. She said that the awareness cum training programme will continue for five days on the premises and invited women to make the best use of it.

The trainers from the Rudrama Devi Self Defence Academy Lakshmi Samrajyam and Ravi explained some techniques to the women on the first day. The women PS CI P Jyothi Rani, MEPMA AO Raghu, TE Kalpana, CMMU Sujatha, CO Raghu and others also participated in the programme.
