Amaravati: The SDRF teams have intensified the search operations for the sliced head of Manikanthi's in Budameru canal where her accused husband had thrown off, along with the knife, on Sunday.

Yesterday, in broad daylight, Manikanthi (26) was brutally murdered and beheaded by her husband, Pradeep (30), in front of her house at Satyanarayanapuram in Vijayawada.

The CCTV installed in the colony captured the footage of Pradeep carrying the severed head in one hand and the knife in the other through the streets. Later, he threw the head placed in a yellow plastic cover in a nearby canal and surrendered at Satyanarayanapuram Police Station.

In this context, the SDRF team conducts the search operation for her head across the Eluru canal. As the Budameru canal is flowing aggressively with floodwater, the search operations are being interrupted.

The search operation is continuing across the 10 km radius as the plastic cover might have floated away with the water flow. So far the team has covered about 8kms range by checking every corner and still the search is going on.
