Guntur: CPM state secretariat member V Krishnaiah demanded the government to take steps to distribute loan eligibility cards to the tenant farmers to get crop loans and recalled that Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy assured financial assistance of Rs 12,500 per year. He urged the CM to keep up his election promise and extend financial assistance to the farmers.
He addressed a meeting held in the CPM office in Guntur on Friday. He felt that it is not correct to cancel the Guntur channel extension works. CPM district secretary Pasam Rama Rao said that the district administration gave LECs to 38,000 farmers and the banks offered crop loans to 1,800 tenant farmers.
CPM district secretariat member Bhavannarayana and J V Raghavulu were also present.
