Vijayawada: RK Sharma, Chief Electrical General Engineer, South Central Railway said that safety was the top most priority of Indian Railways and there are no holidays for safety. He was chief guest at the seminar organised on safety and health management for employees at the Electric Traction Training Centre here on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, Sharma said that every employee must be alert and prompt while performing duties with a balanced state of mind and should strive for the organisation's development. He also said that an employee's maximum potential can be tapped only when he is both physically and mentally fit and active.

Sharma lauded the efforts of P Raghunath Reddy, Senior Divisional Safety Officer and his team for organising such seminars on safety and health management for employees. Earlier, the SCR General Engineer administered a safety pledge to all the officers and staff attended the event. The seminar was conducted in two sessions with 500 employees from various departments taking part.

Dr Atish Kapse, Naturopathist from National Education, a voluntary organization based in Nagpur gave guest lecture on "Management of Stress, Medicine-free life & prevention of lifestyle disorders." He gave valuable information on pain and stress management and various Yogasanas, Pranayama, acupressure and morning walk. He also briefed them on the importance of stress-free life and necessary of healthcare measures against Diabetes, Blood pressure & Cardiac disorders. Y Ravi Kumar, principal, ETTC, V Venkata Ramana, Sr DEE/M, Munireddy, Sr DEE/Operations, Nusrat M Mandrupkar, PRO, Inspectors and staff participated in the event.
