RTC Employees Union issues notice threatening agitation
The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) recognised union, the Employees Union issued a notice to the RTC management on Thursday stating that the EU will launch agitation if the management and government fail to fulfil the assurances given to the Union.
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) recognised union, the Employees Union issued a notice to the RTC management on Thursday stating that the EU will launch agitation if the management and government fail to fulfil the assurances given to the Union.
The Employees Union General Secretary P Damodar and other leaders met the Managing Director and the Vice-Chairman N Surendra Babu at the latter's chamber on Thursday. The Employees union said the JAC of unions had withdrawn the strike notice last month due to the assurance given by the RTC management that their demands would be conceded in June/July 2019. Damodar has alleged the RTC management and the government have failed to fulfil the promise.
He said the RTC has agreed to give postings from June 2019 to 1,167 applicants on compassionate grounds in a phased manner and it is getting delayed on the pretext of verification of certificates. He suspected the government is intentionally delaying the postings on the compassionate grounds.
He alleged issuing identity cards to the spouses of the RTC staff and providing bus pass facility is also getting delayed. He said the discussion on payment of allowances is also not completed and more over, 10 days have passed since the RTC ED had postponed the meeting to discuss the matter.
Damodar has said the RTC management has failed to take a decision for the last four years on payment of cash related to the Uniforms. He said the employees are asking the management to pay Rs.1,000 per pair for purchase of cloth and stitching charges. He alleged the RTC is also not filling the vacant posts.
Damodar has further said the RTC management has failed to fulfil the demands listed by the employees JAC on September 20, 2018 on pay revision and service conditions. He warned the EU will begin agitation if the government fails to fulfil the assurances it made in June, 2019.
