Religious fervour marks Srirama Navami

Vijayawada: Srirama Navami was celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm in different parts of the city on Sunday. The festival marks celestial wedding of Lord Rama. According to Vaishnava tradition, a few temples organised the celestial wedding in a grand manner.

Sri Rama temples at Guru Nanak Nagar, Satyanarayana Puram, Devinagar, Patamata, Patamatalanka, Krishnalanka, Ranigarithota, Poornandampeta and Ayodhya Nagar draw huge crowds. The priests organised Kalyana Mahotsavam of Lord Sitarama Swami at the auspicious Abhijit lagnam in Punarvasu Nakshatram.

The wedding became a visual feast for the devotees. Devotees dressed in a traditional wear participated in the celestial wedding and took the blessings of the lord.
